LEAS LIT is our illustrated literary journal, published twice yearly. The next Leas Lit issue (#52) will be published in December, and we are seeking submissions from residents, which can be short stories, memoirs, or poems — fiction or nonfiction. An author is limited to one prose piece and one poem published in a single issue. The deadline for submissions is September 30th.
Submissions are to be in English and be original pieces that have not been published previously. Book reviews will NOT be accepted. Academic papers will NOT be accepted, nor will papers that are products of artificial intelligence. Each piece must be no longer than 1600 words — and preferably much shorter.
Please send your submission(s) via email to the following address, NOT to one of our Editors:
Authors’ names are removed on receipt of the manuscripts before they are forwarded to the Editors for consideration, ensuring that the Editors don’t know whose work they are reviewing until after decisions are made. You will be informed by letter in October as to whether your piece(s) have been accepted and whether there are any changes we will require of you before publication. Major editing will not be done by the Editors. Authors whose work is published will receive an extra copy of that issue, our pats on the back, and compliments from your friends. We look forward to receiving your materials.
